Most equipment today does provide some form of alerting signal to interface to
monitoring devices from reporting of various malfunction or abnormalities. There are
various kinds of signal that the equipment can send out, most common of which are
opening or closure of one or more switch relay contact. UPS usually provide signals such
as incoming power fail, battery mode, battery level low, and switchover failure. An air
conditioner system may provide signals such as system on/ off, compressor over
temperature, low gas pressure, etc.
Equipment to be monitored are connected to cockatoo using these alarm signaling
contacts. cockatoo keeps a constant watch over all the contacts. Whenever any contact
input changes status (either from a close to open or from an open state to close state) it
is captured by cockatoo. It will then process the input according to the configuration
provided by the user. The correct SMS messages will be sent to 3 mobile phone users.
cockatoo is so fast in capturing the change of status of any signaling contacts that no
event will be missed out up to 8 inputs can be monitored directly.
The flexibility of The COCKATOO is in allowing remote query of input status using the internet.
To change contact mobile phone number is also very easy. Authorize personal remotely using a
web page to add, change or delete mobile phone numbers in The COCKATOO
EXAMPLE:
Companies that process dairy products, use milk as the main raw material for their production.
It is extremely important that milk must be collected, transported and processed under specific
temperature conditions that will guarantee that the product is in excellent shape.
Originally, milk is produced in farms spread around the countryside, where big collection tanks
exist to gather the locally milked product. Every a few kilometers, a central collection point
exists, with really big tanks, to gather milk from the farm nearby. So, it is important to monitor
the tank temperature in each and any of the farms, as well as in each and any of the central
collection points. Furthermore, it is also useful to monitor the milk level in those tanks, in order
to schedule an efficient collection plan for the tanker vehicles.

When milk is collected from the central points and is transported to the main industrial facility,
the milk temperature is also important to be monitored. Finally, the store temperature in the
major tanks located in the factory must be monitored too, as well as the milk level.
The use of The Cockatoo is the solution to the problem:
Each farm will have its own Cockatoo to monitor the milk temperature and tank level.
Furthermore, each central collection point will have its own Cockatoo to monitor the milk
temperature and tank level, too. At all cases, the readings and alarm will automatically be
transmitted via GSM network to multiple SMS recipients to take immediate action, i.e. maintain
the cooling system, or call the tanker vehicle to collect the product.
This way, crucial information on milk is always in hand, regardless of how far the farm or the
collection point is located, while immediate alarming allows technical personnel to handle
maintenance and control.
